Set Up Via Purchase In App Stores

Hunts are purchased from within the HunterBNOLA app, downloaded from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.  Once you complete your in-app purchase of the Hunt you wish to embark on and have created a Hunter name, you will be given the starting location for your Hunt from within the App.  Tapping ‘BEGIN HUNT’ on the screen that follows WILL START your Hunt so, you’ll likely want to be at your starting location before tapping it.  Don’t forget, Hunts are open between the hours of noon and 6pm CT, 7 days a week. 

 You will need a wifi/internet service connection for the app download and purchase.

Hunting

The Hunts consist of riddles, bonus questions, and trivia questions. All of which earn you points and determine your level of hunting prowess! The riddles lead you to the destinations. You’ll get four tries to enter the destination name before the answer will be revealed to you. Each riddle has hints to help you out and to expand your knowledge of this richly historic city. Tap the ‘hint’ button to see the hints, they can help you out in a pinch and are ever so fascinating! Answers are not case sensitive, however, they must be spelled accurately to register as a ‘correct’ answer and for points to be awarded.

Once you’ve arrived at each destination you will have a bonus question to try to answer, to earn more points. In many cases, sweet talking the local folk might help you answer the bonus questions. In other cases, you can likely sort out the answers on your own or with the help of your dear friend…Google.

Should you choose to linger and enjoy (um, day-drink at) the hand-picked destinations, you’ll have Crescent City trivia questions which you can answer to keep the Hunt going, collecting points, and learning historical tidbits about this magical city. The Hunts are not a race. The destinations are meant to be appreciated and patronized (if you choose to) at your own pace, as they are the hidden gems of the city. Not every destination is a bar, but plenty are mon cher ;)

Summary

  1. Make sure you have an Internet connection

  2. Download the HunterBNOLA app from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store

  3. Purchase your Hunt from within the app

  4. Go to the starting location

  5. Press ‘BEGIN HUNT’ to start your Hunt

  6. Solve the riddle, finding your destination

  7. Try sweet talking the locals or consult your friend Google for help in solving the destination bonus question

  8. If partaking in purchasing drinks, ask for a ‘go cup’ to take your booze with you


    Repeat 6-8 but, don’t forget to answer the Crescent City trivia questions for even more points, and have a marvelous time!
